The short version

• I only collect what you choose to send me, so I can reply and book your appointment.
• I never sell, rent or trade your information.
• This website doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies.
• You can ask me to see, correct or delete your information at any time.

Who I am

Sewing Shack Alterations is a clothing alteration, tailoring and repair business at 1057 St. Mary's Blvd., Windsor, ON N8S 2V3. I am responsible for the personal information collected through this website, in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

What information I collect

When you send the booking form: your name, phone number, email address, how you'd like to be contacted, the service you're interested in, your preferred days or times, and the details you write about your garment.

When you call, email or message me on Facebook: whatever you choose to share, such as your name, contact details, and information about your clothing and measurements.

Automatically: like almost every website, the web server keeps short technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of the visit). These are used only for security and to keep the site running.

Please don't send payment card numbers or other sensitive information through the form.

How I use it

• To reply to your request and arrange an appointment
• To contact you about your garments — for example, when they're ready for pickup
• To keep basic records of the work I've done for you
• To keep this website secure and working

I don't use your information for marketing, and I won't add you to a mailing list.

Where it goes

Booking form messages are emailed to my business inbox (sewingshackalterations@gmail.com), which is a Gmail account provided by Google. The website itself doesn't keep a copy of your form submission.

Some trusted services help run this site and may process limited information on my behalf:

• Website hosting — stores the website and its server logs.
• Google — Gmail for email, the map on the Contact and Home pages, and the website's fonts. Loading the map or fonts sends your IP address to Google, and the map may set Google cookies. See Google's privacy policy.
• Facebook (Meta) — only if you click a Facebook link or message me there. Facebook's own privacy policy applies to anything you send through it.

Some of these providers may store information outside Canada, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

I don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Cookies

This website doesn't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress may set a cookie only if you log in to manage the site. The embedded Google map may set its own cookies when it loads.

How long I keep it

I keep messages and appointment details only as long as I need them to complete your work and keep reasonable business records, then delete them. Web server logs are deleted automatically on a regular schedule.

How I protect it

The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, and my email and website accounts are protected with strong passwords. No method of sending or storing information online is perfectly secure, but I take reasonable steps to protect yours.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent at any time, though I may then be unable to complete an appointment. Just contact me using the details below.

If you're not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Children

This website isn't aimed at children. If you're under 16, please have a parent or guardian contact me.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle information, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
